I’m building a synthesizer from scratch, according to the schematics and parts list found on the MFOS website. Its a great place to find nice DIY projects, mainly synthesizers and other sound generating devices. I’ve been soldering already for a few years now, but this is definitely my biggest project so far. Resistors, n-jfets, diodes, capacitors, chips its all there. And by now I more and more understand what they’re exactly for. The proto type is almost finished, and will see its first test phase probably this weekend. The final synth will be fitted into a 19 inch rack. The front plate will be made of metal, the necessary information will be silk screen printed on to that. Design for that is almost finished, but soon more about that.
