Most houses in Katowice have a heater inside which works on coal. The picture below shows a lightgreen object in the corner of my room. This big kind of oven needs to be filled with coal (ofcoarse lit by fire) in order to heat the room. My room already is modernised by electric heating, which is put inside this old heater.

This Old way of heating produces coal black smoke, most of it goes out of the house. But some of it stays inside to slowly make everything grey. My room was quite grey and this week I found out that it takes a shit load of paint to make this smoke grey turn white again. I’m almost there! The other pictures shows my balcony and the view we have in the kitchen(clickzle to enlarge!). It’s hard to show a house with pictures, so please come by to see it with your own eyes!
